Guest Blogger on Student Savvy

This week I was lucky enough to be a guest blogger on Student Savvy!  My post discussed incorporating task cards into your lesson plans for any subject or grade level.  They have become my go-to item, and my students absolutely LOVE them!  It’s a great way to differentiate the lesson, as well as review and formatively assess your students’ understanding of a skill(s).  Click here to read more about this amazing resource here!

Week 2 #TPTSellerChallenge- Dare to Dream

This week’s TPT Seller Challenge was to blog about your goals and dreams.  I absolutely love this topic, because it forces me to think about my hopes for the future.   Thanks again to the awesome TPT sellers/bloggers for organizing this!

First and foremost, I want to continue to work on my health, because if you don’t feel good, then it’s impossible to be your best.  In order to be a good wife, mother, teacher, sister, friend, etc. it’s important that I’m happy with me.  To work towards accomplishing this goal, I recently joined Beach Body and have begun the Piyo workouts.  I’m currently at the beginning stages of this, but I’m going to make myself do it until I get to the point where I can’t stand to go without completing my workout each day!

My next goal is to increase my TPT sells!  I joined TPT a little less than a year ago and have grown so much through this process.  TPT isn’t only a place to make extra money, but it’s also a way to learn more about your craft as an educator, what works for other teachers, and what doesn’t.  So, although it’s nice to create fun products that I can use with my own students while making a little money on the side, it’s also a huge learning tool that can be a productive resource…even for veteran teachers.    Don’t get me wrong…I would LOVE to make enough money to pay for my family vacation next summer, so that’s definitely what I’m striving for.

Thanks again to the amazing bloggers who organized this challenge for us!  It has truly helped me (and I'm sure many others) to put both their TPT and personal goals into perspective.  I look forward to seeing where we are, not only at the end of the final weekly challenge, but in the future, as well.

TPT Sellers Challenge- Week #1

I’m so excited to be a part of the #TPTSellersChallenge!   This was a great way to get motivated and to think of ways to improve my products.  Thanks to the awesome bloggers for hosting this event!

For week 1, the challenge was to makeover a product.  For this, I chose to give my Common Core Vocab Task Cards a new look.  This was one of my first products that I created for TPT, and since it was in the fall when I did this, I gave it a more fall look.  After seeing other fabulous TPT sellers products and learning all that I have from them,  I found a lot of ways that this product could be improved.  See the before and after below:

Some of the changes included:  adding a student answer sheet, color coordinating the task cards, and changing the font so that the task cards were easier to read.  I have to say, I really like the revamped product much better!  To download this product on TPT, click here:  Check out some of the other great makeovers from the #TPTSellersChallenge by visiting Sparkling in Second!

I'm also linking up with RClassroomsRUs to share what we've done this week!  Be sure to check out their "Friday's News" blog!
